Set clear expectations for every scenario you know, and what to do when you come across a scenario you don’t. When people know what they can do to resolve a problem, they will do it. If they think they have to go to the boss for everything they will that too! If you chose to take the latter position, don’t plan on any vacations!- Share with your team that you believe in their ability to make decisions- OUTLOUD and say it plainly and clearly. Let them know you not only believe they can do it, but you expect them to do it.
- Be open to a team member not being “perfect” in their delivery. This is your opportunity to coach them through it and demonstrate your confidence in them.
