There's tons of both dangers and opportunities as well out there, but older people these days can't seem to direct their business in the right direction, or they half-attempt modern stuff without learning more into the matters. I've read quite an interesting book about leadership, written by a guy named David Grabovac and it perfectly explained how the younger people will always be updated easier on current events than their older counterparts, because they're an active part in the things that happen. The older businessmen, on the other hand, need to adapt to the younger generation and mold it's business' rules to suit this new generation. Don't know if that made too much sense. Read the book though, it explains it more clearly than I can.

This is a very timely appropriate tip. This works for customers, employees, vendor--you name it! People need to know that you are not holding back information. Too many large corporations think they know better. Thanks for the tip!

Totally agree that we all have leadership skills. We just need to harness, invest and improve on it to be a successful leader.

The best way is to learn from top business leaders. I like to see them speak and share their strategies and insights and www.meettheboss.tv is a great resource that provides FREE HD quality video interviews.

I hope all of you learn something from those free videos.

Renie, you are deadly accurate on this one. The value of focusing on the day is not to be discounted. The also great Jason Fried just wrote an article for Inc. that you and your readers might find interesting. . To quote Mr. Fried: "Today is all you have in business. Tomorrow is just today again. Next week? Seven todays in a row. A month isn't 30 days. It's 30 todays."

The big problem is simple. Most sales people and sales trainers are not aware of the different skill set required when making major sales. There is a huge difference between making that simple sale and making a sale that requires many interviews and meetings.
Most of the old training methods are no longer viable in today's selling world.
